Industry Report - ISFM 7120 WAN Traffic Shaping

Today Tolly, the leading global provider of hands-on IT research, published an evaluation report for WAN traffic shaping using the Torres Networks ISFM 7120 IP Service Flow Manager (ISFM).

 

Tolly engineers evaluated the Torres Networks ISFM 7120 in a variety of areas that included: policy (bandwidth management), detection (traffic identification), connection load and data throughput, system configuration and reporting.

 

The Bottom Line:

  • Guaranteed very good VoIP call quality in bandwidth constrained environments
  • Delivered an aggregate device throughput of 200 Mbps
  • Demonstrated connection rate of 1,100 connections per second without errors and maintained a maximum of 32,000 concurrent connections
  • Demonstrated ability to detect a wide range of applications including DNS, VoIP (SIP and RTP), FTP, SMB, Email (SMTP and POP3), Jabber, MSN Messenger and Yahoo Messenger
