MicroServe Consulting Inc., a major managed IT and collocation service provider, and Torres Networks Limited, a leading provider of Policy Control and Bandwidth Management solutions today announced a partnership to deliver Bandwidth Optimization as a managed service to businesses in the Washington DC-Maryland-Virginia metro area. This partnership enables MicroServe to broaden its service offering, making forays into what has traditionally been a telecom dominated space, while allowing Torres to enter the US small and medium business market.

Torres Networks offers enterprise and carrier grade bandwidth shaping appliance called IP Service Flow Manager (ISFM) that uses Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) technology to identify, monitor and prioritize critical business data traffic, while limiting bandwidth use by non-critical user traffic such as P2P, YouTube etc. Torres also offers a centralized carrier-grade management suite of components called Service Management Platform (SMP) for Managed Service Providers and Carriers
